Both technologies deliver thermal energy and create microscopic wounds within the dermal layers of skin, in turn stimulating fibroblast activity, causing significant increase in collagen production as well as tightening of elastin fibres and increase in lymphatic flow.
How Secret Duo Works
SECRET DUO with RF Mico-Needling uses Bi-Polar Radiofrequency energy, delivered precisely and directly into the deeper layers of the Dermis via minimally invasive micro-needles.
SECRET DUO with Erbium Glass 1540nm utilises non-ablative laser energy to precisely penetrate to the deeper layers of the Dermis whilst leaving the skin’s surface and surrounding tissue unaffected.

What Results Can I Expect From Secret Duo
Depending on your specific treatment, you can experience some or all of the following:
Collagen production and remodelling will occur approximately 4-6 weeks after treatment and continue for up to 3 months after each treatment.
The skin can tighten and lift, pore size can reduce, skin tone and texture can improve, and pigmentation can lighten.
You can expect to see a smoothing of wrinkles and reduction in the prominence of scars.
If you are being treated for Hyperhidrosis with RF Micro-Needling, there will be a permanent reduction to the number of sweat glands, and you could experience a reduction in sweat volume of up to 75% after two treatment sessions.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
This will vary according to your individual situation and treatment. However, most people will benefit from 3-5 treatment sessions.
Optimal treatment interval should be determined in consultation with your practitioner and will depend on the area being treated.
For ongoing benefits, a bi-annual maintenance treatment is recommended.
What To Expect During And After Your Secret Duo Treatment
Your Practitioner will examine your skin and your area(s) of concern. It is important to communicate clearly with your practitioner regarding your treatment goals. Secret Duo is a powerful and versatile system, it enables your practitioner to tailer your treatment to suit your individual needs.
An Anaesthetic cream will be applied to your skin and will be left to take effect for up to 1 hour.
RF Micro-Needling
Your practitioner will move the handpiece progressively over the treatment area, pausing to ‘stamp’ your skin with the Micro-Needles that deliver RF Energy.
You will feel a momentary warm prickling sensation. The intensity of this sensation will depend on the RF Energy setting and the depth of the Micro-Needles.
Micro-Needles can penetrate from 0.5mm – 3.5mm, depending on the area to be treated.
Erbium Glass Laser 1540nm
Your practitioner will position the handpiece lightly on the skin and move progressively over the treatment area in a ‘stamping’ or ‘sweeping’ motion.
You will feel a momentary warmth and prickling sensation that is managed with cold air for added comfort and safety.
The intensity of this sensation will depend on the Laser Energy delivered.
Secret Duo treatments take anywhere between 20-60 minutes, depending on the area to be treated.
Immediately after the treatment, your skin will be red and feel warm and tingly, similar to a sunburn. The redness will subside over a period of 6-48 hours.
You will be sensitive to extreme temperatures; it is wise to stay out of direct sunlight.
Possible Side Effects from Secret Duo Treatment
Most patients return to work and other normal activities the next day without any significant evidence of treatment. Minor pin-point bleeding, where the micro-needles have pierced the surface of the skin and possible

Although rare, bruising may occur.
Fine Crust or Scab might develop in parts of the treated area. It is very important that you do not pick or rub this, allow it to heal and disappear naturally.
Mild – Moderate Swelling might occur immediately after the treatment, but this will resolve within 24-72
You could see some temporary patterning of the treated skin.
There is a slight risk of infection, it is important to keep the treated area clean. Your practitioner will advise regarding a cleansing routine and any creams or lotions your may use.
Although rare, burns and blisters can occur, which could result in a poor cosmetic outcome and/or scarring.
